Plagiarism Policy & Academic Integrity
The International Journal of Computational Science and Digital Innovation (IJCSDI) enforces zero tolerance for academic plagiarism, text recycling, and unauthorized content duplication.
1. Automated Similarity Screening Thresholds
Green Tier (Direct Progression)
Manuscript exhibits low text overlap confined to common domain phrasing and citations. Advances directly to peer review assignment.
Amber Tier (Editorial Inspection)
Managing Editor manually inspects similarity report. If overlap consists of standard mathematical equations or method citations, it proceeds.
Red Tier (Violation / Rejection)
Significant verbatim text overlap detected. Manuscript is immediately returned to authors for complete rewriting or desk rejected without review.
2. Forms of Academic Misconduct & Prohibitions
Verbatim Plagiarism & Salami Slicing
Copying portions of another researcher's text, mathematical derivation, or system code without enclosing in quotation marks and citing the original paper constitutes direct plagiarism. Fractioning a cohesive research investigation into fragmented minor papers ("salami publishing") is unethical.
Self-Plagiarism & Text Recycling
Authors may not republish substantial passages from their own prior conference proceedings, theses, or published journal articles without explicit citation and justification. Minor overlap in standard experimental methodology must be rephrased concisely.
Figure, Image & Data Fabrication
Falsifying computational benchmark numbers, manipulating ROC/accuracy curves, or digitally altering medical or microscopy images is classified as grave scientific misconduct resulting in immediate disqualification.
Permissible Preprints
Posting non-peer-reviewed working drafts on recognized preprint servers (e.g. arXiv, TechRxiv) prior to submission is permitted. Authors must declare the preprint server URL and DOI during submission.
Investigation and COPE Retraction Protocol
If credible allegations of plagiarism or scientific fraud emerge post-publication, IJCSDI initiates a formal inquiry in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Retraction Guidelines. If substantiated, the article will be formally retracted with a transparent Retraction Notice permanently linked to the Crossref DOI record.
